Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guatemala Martínez's visit to Japan

H.E. Mr. Carlos Ramiro Martínez, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guatemala, will visit Japan from May 22 to 24. This visit will be the first ministerial visit from Guatemala to Japan since the inauguration of its new government last January.
- During his stay in Japan, Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan will hold a meeting and host a working dinner for Minister Martínez, where they will strengthen bilateral ties under the Diplomatic Initiative toward Latin America and the Caribbean and exchange views on regional and international affairs.
- Guatemala and Japan will celebrate the 90th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2025. Through the visit by Minister Martínez, it is expected that the bilateral relation between Japan and Guatemala, partners who share values and principles, and work together in economic and social development as well as in international fora, will be further strengthened.
