Statement by the G7 Non-Proliferation Directors Group
April 19, 2024
On April 19, the G7 Non-Proliferation Directors Group released its Statement.
In this statement, the G7 condemns Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, reaffirms the steadfast solidarity with the Ukrainian people and states its position on pressing issues in disarmament and non-proliferation, including nuclear disarmament, nuclear non-proliferation (e.g. response to North Korea and Iran), export controls and peaceful use of nuclear energy as well as issues in relation to biological, chemical, and conventional weapons and the outer space. In particular, the G7 recalls the “G7 Leaders’ Hiroshima Vision on Nuclear Disarmament” published in the G7 Hiroshima Summit last year and reiterates the commitment to a world without nuclear weapons.
