Video Message by Mr. TSUJI Kiyoto, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, at the ECOSOC Youth Forum Side Event

On April 18, Mr. TSUJI Kiyoto, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, participated in an ECOSOC Youth Forum side event held in New York through a video message. The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, State Minister Tsuji expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the event for the empowerment of youth who were associated with non-state armed groups, in view of enhancing agendas of the WPS and YPS.
- State Minister Tsuji then outlined the human security approach which Japan is working on, and stated that achieving sustainable peace requires upholding the human dignity of every individual through an inclusive approach that ensures participation of women and youth across political and socio-economic dimensions.
- Finally, State Minister Tsuji stated that he was certain this event would help raise awareness about the presence and unique potential of youth associated with non-state armed groups and accelerate the support to those people, towards building sustainable peace.
