Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) Online Ministerial

Mr.TSUJI Kiyoto, State Minister for Foreign Affairs and Mr. SAITO Ken, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, attended the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) Ministerial held online on March 14. The overview of the meeting is as follows:
- The IPEF Ministerial was hosted by the Honorable Gina Raimondo, Secretary of Commerce of the United States of America, and attended by representatives from Australia, Brunei, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.
- In the Ministerial, the participants confirmed the progress on the IPEF Supply Chain Agreement, the IPEF Clean Economy Agreement, and the IPEF Fair Economy Agreement among others. State Minister Tsuji stated that Japan will also proceed with the necessary procedures to sign the IPEF Clean Economy Agreement, the IPEF Fair Economy Agreement and the IPEF Agreement.
- State Minister Tsuji also emphasized the importance of cooperation and capacity building among IPEF members, and welcomed the progress of tangible benefits and initiatives under the IPEF, stating that Japan would like to continue its contribution.
