The Second Japan-U.S. Strategic Dialogue on Democratic Resilience

On March 8, the second Japan-U.S. Strategic Dialogue on Democratic Resilience was held at the U.S. Department of State. The overview is as follows.
- Mr. KOBE Yasuhiro, Deputy Minister for Foreign Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented the Japanese delegation. Ms. Uzra Zeya, Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, led the US side.
- The two sides discussed their collaboration in the international fora including the UN General Assembly and Human Rights Council. They also exchanged views on how democratic resilience can be enhanced in the international community and within each country while promoting an inclusive society and women’s empowerment, and confirmed that they would work more closely together. Furthermore, they reaffirmed their cooperation in the area of business and human rights.
