Parliamentary Vice-Minister Fukazawa attends the 7th Ministerial Meeting of the Japan-Saudi Vision 2030

On December 25th, the 7th Ministerial Meeting of the Japan-Saudi Vision 2030 was held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The meeting was attended by Mr. SAITO Ken, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Mr. FUKAZAZWA Yoichi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs and others from the Japanese side, and H.E. Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, Minister of Investment and others from the Saudi side.

  1. In the meeting, both sides reviewed the progress in cooperation between Japan and Saudi Arabia since the 6th Ministerial Meeting held in November 2022 and exchanged views on the future direction of cooperation.
  2. Parliamentary Vice-Minister Fukazawa expressed his respect for the efforts of both the Japanese and Saudi side towards materializing projects in a wide range of cooperation areas as concurred between the leaders of both countries. Furthermore, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Fukazawa introduced efforts that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan is promoting, in cooperation with relevant ministries and agencies, with regard to the framework of the "Japan-Saudi Vision 2030" in the fields of people-to-people exchange, culture, sports, education and research. In addition, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Fukazawa stated that he seeks to make efforts to further strengthen Japan-Saudi Arabia relations towards the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2025.
