Japan-Iran Vice-Ministerial Consultation

On December 19th, for approximately 3 hours, Mr. FUNAKOSHI Takehiro, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, held a Japan-Iran Vice-Ministerial Consultation with H.E. Dr. Ali Bagheri Kani, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Islamic Republic of Iran, who is visiting Japan. The overview is as follows.
- Both sides exchanged candid views on regional affairs, including the situation in the Gaza Strip and Ukraine, as well as Iran’s nuclear issue bilateral relationship between Japan and Iran, and other issues.
- Prior to this consultation, on December 18th, Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from Deputy Minister Bagheri Kani.
