Workshop on Countering Disinformation

On December 11, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) held an online workshop on countering disinformation. This workshop was announced in Prime Minister Kishida’s policy speech at the Indian Council of World Affairs in March this year. MOFA exchanged views with participating Southeast Asian countries on their awareness of the situation and their efforts on countering disinformation.

The proliferation of disinformation is a common challenge in all countries that hinders people's political self-determination and threatens the autonomy of nations. With a view to ensure a free and fair cyberspace, we will hold a workshop or other events this year to expand knowledge throughout the region on countermeasures against disinformation.
