Message of condolence from Minister for Foreign Affairs KAMIKAWA Yoko on the passing of Dr. Henry Kissinger, Former Secretary of State of the United States of America
Following the passing of Dr. Henry Kissinger, the Former Secretary of State of the United States of America, on November 29th (local time), Foreign Minister KAMIKAWA Yoko sent the following message to Mrs. Nancy Kissinger.
“I was deeply saddened to hear the passing of your husband, Dr. Henry Kissinger, former Secretary of State of the United States of America.
Dr. Kissinger devoted himself to peace and stability in the international community for many years. In the context of Japan-US relations, he was deeply involved in the negotiations for the reversion of Okinawa to Japan. His profound knowledge and expertise on international politics has been highly respected, and the Government of Japan has learned a lot from him.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy to your beloved husband. Also, please allow me to offer my sincere condolences to you and your family as well as to pay tribute to his achievements during his lifetime.”
