ASEF’s support for Stockpile Project through International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)
Assistance for COVID-19 and Other Emerging Infectious Diseases

- As an assistance under Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) Project for Strengthening Preparedness and Response to the COVID-19 and other Emerging Infectious Diseases financially contributed by Japan, the Government of Japan has approved the support of 10,000,000 USD for the Stockpile Project to enhance preparedness and response capacities for COVID-19 and other infectious diseases in five ASEM countries in Asia through International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
- Medical devices, cold-chain equipment for vaccines, personal protective equipment and others will be provided to Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan and the Philippines to address COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.
(Note 1) Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) was founded in 1997 in Singapore as a permanent body of Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). It engages in activities to enhance mutual understanding between Asia and Europe with a focus on the socio-cultural field.

Pulse-oximeter, oxygen concentrator, cold-chain equipment for vaccines and other medical devices, COVID-19 rapid testing kits, personal protective equipment, and medicines.
