Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Nakayama received a courtesy call by Ms. Catherine Pollard, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Management Strategy,Policy and Compliance

On February 17, commencing at 10:00 a.m. for approximately twenty minutes, Mr. NAKAYAMA Norihiro, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by Ms. Catherine Pollard, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance. The overview of the courtesy call is as follows:
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister Nakayama welcomed Ms. Pollard for visiting Japan, and stated that Japan hopes to continue to cooperate with the United Nations Secretariat to promote its 75th anniversary and to involve a wide range of generations in the anniversary.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister Nakayama expressed Japan’s support for the UN reform led by Secretary-General Guterres and hoped that the UN, at its 75th anniversary, will become an organization which meets the needs of the time and shows tangible outcomes.
- Both sides also exchanged views on increasing Japanese staff in the United Nations and other related issues.
