Courtesy Call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. YAMADA Kenji by Delegation from the Municipalities of Türkiye

On July 18, commencing at 12:10 p.m. for approximately 40 minutes, Mr. YAMADA Kenji, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call by Delegation of Municipalities of Türkiye. The overview is as follows.
- State Minister Yamada welcomed the visit of Delegation of Municipalities of Türkiye and hoped that their visit to Japan, including visit to the Hyogo Prefectural Wide-Area Disaster Prevention Center and Hokudan Earthquake Memorial Park, would be a meaningful one. He also mentioned to Ms. Fatma ŞAHIN, Mayor of Gaziantep, that he was glad to see her again after his visit to the affected area in March, following the earthquake that hit southeastern Türkiye.
- State Minister Yamada conveyed that the Government of Japan had decided to provide grant aid totaling approximately USD 34 million as new assistance for recovery and reconstruction, and is preparing to provide a loan of approximately USD 550 million on extremely concessionary terms, as Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio conveyed to Mr. Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN, President of the Republic of Türkiye at the summit telephone meeting.
- Both sides agreed to continue to promote cooperation between them.
