Additional Assistance to the flood disaster in southern Ukraine

The Government of Japan will provide an additional assistance to the flood disaster in southern Ukraine as follows, in addition to Emergency Grant Aid of USD 5 million which was decided on June 20.
- The Government of Japanwill provide 100 water purifiers, 21 large water tanks and 4,000 plastic water containers through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in order to urgently secure drinking water for the residents of the Kherson region, the worst affected area. These items are scheduled to reach the site by early July.
- Japan will also provide approximately 60 water purification units, and about 30 drain pumps as another additional support through JICA.
- Moreover, 8,000 meters (100m x 80 units) of safety rope and 3,000 pieces of adsorbent materials, which the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has decided to provide, will be transported to the Kherson region.
- Japan will continue to support and stand by with the people of Ukraine who are facing hardship, in collaboration with the international community, including the G7 members.
