On August 12, regarding the devastating damages caused by the wild fires in Hawaii, U.S., Foreign Minister HAYASHI Yoshimasa sent the following messages of condolences to the Honorable Antony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America and the Honorable Josh Green, Governor of the State of Hawaii.

“I would like to express my deepest sympathies to the people and the Government of the United States for the devastating damages that have been caused by the wild fires in Hawaii. I hope the fires will be brought under control as soon as possible.
Japan stands with the United States and its people in this most difficult time.
I send my prayers to the victims and hope for the earliest possible recovery from this disaster.”
