July 6, 2023
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan will conduct a study tour for diplomatic corps in Japan, in collaboration with the City of Kitakyushu on July 18 and 19, 2023.
- The study tours have been conducted annually since the fiscal year of 2010 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with local governments or bodies in order to showcase diverse regional attractions such as history, culture, tourism, local products, and industries to diplomatic corps in Japan.
- Kitakyushu developed as one of Japan’s four major industrial zones and is also known as a city that has made efforts to eliminate industrial waste. From this perspective, the theme “Feel the Green Future and Rich Past of Kitakyushu” was set for this tour. The diplomatic corps will visit the facilities related to the theme of this tour and expand their knowledge on a variety of Kitakyushu’s attractive points such as history, culture, industry and local food.
- It is expected that this Study Tour will provide a good opportunity for participants to explore the City of Kitakyushu and deepen their understanding of its various attractiveness, and also to expand exchanges between the City of Kitakyushu and the participating countries.
