The fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces
(Statement by Foreign Minister HAYASHI Yoshimasa)

  1. On April 15, the fighting erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in Khartoum, leaving a large number of casualties.
  2. The Government of Japan is deeply concerned about the situation that undermines the transition to civilian rule based on the Constitutional Declaration. We also call for all actors to stop the violence immediately.
  3. The Government of Japan, together with G7 and other like-minded countries, closely cooperates with the regional countries and supports Sudanese efforts toward the restoration of transition to civilian rule in Sudan.
