Courtesy Call on Foreign Minister HAYASHI by Prof. Tshilidzi Marwala, Rector of the UNU

On March 14, for approximately 15 minutes, from 10:15 a.m., Minister HAYASHI received a courtesy call from Prof. Tshilidzi Marwala, Rector of the United Nations University(UNU). The overview of the courtesy call is as follows.
- Minister Hayashi welcomed Prof. Marwala’s assumption of office as the Rector of the UNU, and stated that Japan attaches great importance to strengthening its relationship with the UNU, which is the only United Nations organization headquartered in Japan.
- In response, Prof. Marwala expressed his appreciation for Japan's support for the UNU and stated that he would like to further strengthen cooperation with Japan.
- They also discussed engagement with the "Global South" and responding to global issues.
