The 32nd Meeting of the Committee for the Promotion of the Declassification of Diplomatic Records

  1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs transfers administrative documents that are more than 30 years old, in principle, with historical significance to the Diplomatic Archives and make them available to the public. Of these, documents related to important cases that are expected to receive many requests for use are selected and made public in December every year after a special review (identification of information to be restricted for the public use) by the Committee for the Promotion of the Declassification of Diplomatic Records (referred to as "special declassification").
  2. On February 24th, the 32nd meeting of the Committee for the Promotion of the Declassification of Diplomatic Records, headed by Mr.TAKAGI Kei, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  3. At the meeting, the members of the Committee (PDF)Open a New Window reviewed the declassification of diplomatic records on the exchanges of VIP visits to/from the United States and China in 1992.
