Visit to Japan by Dr. Ngozi OKONJO-IWEALA

- From October 18 to 20, Dr. Ngozi OKONJO-IWEALA, Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), will make a working visit to Japan.
- During her stay in Japan, Director-General OKONJO-IWEALA is scheduled to meet with senior officials of Japan, including Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan. She will also exchange views with representatives of relevant organizations.
- A rules-based free and open multilateral trading system is the foundation on which Japan stands, with the WTO as its cornerstone. This visit is expected to garner understanding of Japan's position on WTO reform as well as strengthen cooperation with the WTO.
