Launch of a Special Home Page of the Tokyo Nutrition for Growth Summit 2021
The Tokyo Nutrition for Growth Summit 2021
Japan will host the Tokyo Nutrition for Growth (N4G) Summit 2021 on December 7 and 8. The Tokyo N4G Summit will be held in a hybrid format that combines on-site participation from Japan and on-line participation from both Japan and overseas.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has worsened the situation on nutrition globally, the entire world, regardless of high-income or resource-limited countries, has been facing the escalation of the double burden of malnutrition, where undernutrition stunting growth coexists with overnutrition causing lifestyle related diseases.
Through the Tokyo N4G Summit, Japan will indicate a direction for the international community to improve nutrition and will lead global nutrition improvement through encouraging announcement of policy and financial commitments made by a wide range of stakeholders, such as governments, international organisations, business, civil society, and academia.
The Tokyo N4G Summit will focus on the following five thematic areas:
- (1) Health (Universal Health Coverage)
- (2) Food (Food Systems)
- (3) Resilience (Nutritional efforts in fragile and conflict-affected contexts)
- (4) Accountability
- (5) Financing
