Study Tour to Koriyama Area in Fukushima Prefecture for the Diplomatic Corps in Japan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan will organize a Study Tour for the diplomatic corps stationed in Japan, jointly with Koriyama City in Fukushima Prefecture from November 25 to 26.
- Such Study Tours are held every year by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with local governments or bodies in order to showcase regional attractions such as history, culture, tourism, local products, and industries to foreign diplomats posted in Japan.
- This time, the programme is focused on the wide Area of Koriyama as an assembly place of “Cutting-Edge Science and Technology” and “Revitalization of Fukushima observed in a wide area after the Great East Japan Earthquake and the nuclear disaster”. In this context, the diplomatic corps will visit the sites and the institutions related to medicine, energy, science, agriculture, and recovery from 3.11, which developed by the blessing of surrounding mountains with rich natural environment and Lake Inawashiro or the Mother Lake of this region. It is expected that this Tour will further deepen participants’ understanding of Koriyama Area.
