Minister for Foreign Affairs MOTEGI Toshimitsu attended the 13th Global Governance Group (3G) Ministerial Meeting

On September 23, from 9:30 p.m., for approximately 105 minutes, the 13th Global Governance Group(3G) Ministerial Meeting was held in virtual form. From Japan, as the previous Presidency of the G20, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs attended and made statement.

  1. At the meeting, Minister Motegi stressed that, in order to address the current COVID-19 crisis and to transform our society, it is important to 1) promote global collaboration for the development and delivery of vaccines, 2) establish a post-COVID-19 international order, including international rule-making in the digitalized economy and maintain and development of the free trade system, and 3) promote transformation of society through innovation.
  2. In addition, Minister Motegi stated that the vision embodied in the phrase of “leaving no one behind”, which lies at the center of the SDGs, should be the guiding principle for designing our society for the future. Minister Motegi also stated that Japan, which has been playing a leading role in promoting the concept of human security, will redouble its efforts to achieve the SDGs together with the international community.​
