- On May 21 (Japan Standard Time), Minister of Foreign Affairs Fumio Kishida sent a message to the Honorable John Kerry, U.S. Secretary of State, in the wake of the tremendous damage caused by a tornado that hit the State of Oklahoma in the afternoon on May 20 (local time).
- In his message, Minister Kishida expressed his condolences and sympathy for the victims and their families and also expressed his expectation toward a quick recovery of the affected areas.
