Training for engineering personnel in Asia regions (Remote)

November 10, 2023

From November 13 to 17, 5 Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) personnel will participate as instructors, etc., in the remote Construction Process Management Course for engineering personnel in Asian regions under the United Nations Triangular Partnership Programme organized by the UN Department of Operational Support.

  1. The United Nations Triangular Partnership Programme (TPP) is a framework for cooperation among the United Nations, supporting member states including Japan and troop-contributing countries of UN Peacekeeping to support capacity building of UN peacekeepers. Japan has contributed to the promotion of the TPP by dispatching JSDF personnel as instructors to conduct training in the fields of engineering (facilities) and medicine for peacekeepers from African and Asian countries. At the First Leader’s Summit on Peacekeeping held at the UN Headquarters in 2014, Japan announced its support for rapid deployment, which led to the establishment of TPP.
  2. This Construction Process Management Course is the third one contributed by Japan within the framework of the TPP. This course is intended to provide trainees with essential knowledge and skills to manage construction process in peacekeeping missions through practical training on formulating various process charts. Trainees are expected to contribute to more effective activities in the field of peacekeeping missions in the future.
