The following is an overview of the main events (excluding the courtesy call to H.E. Mr. Denys SHMYHAL, Prime Minister of Ukraine and others) during the visit of Mr. TSUJI Kiyoto, State Minister for Foreign Affairs and Mr. IWATA Kazuchika, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry to Ukraine on November 20 (same day, local time).

  1. Exchange of views and matching with the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

    1. State Ministers Tsuji and Iwata, together with representatives of business sectors of Japan, held an exchange of views with representatives from the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Federation of Employers of Ukraine.
    2. Following this, Matching between Japanese and Ukrainian business representatives was held, and an exchange of opinions took place regarding cooperation between companies from the two countries for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

  1. Attendance at the handover ceremony of landmine detectors, etc.

    1. State Minister Tsuji stated that the clearance of landmines in Ukraine is one of the priorities in the country's recovery and reconstruction. He expressed his hope that the Japanese government’s support would contribute to this effort.
    2. After that, Ms. Yuliia SVYRYDENKO, First Deputy Prime Minister– Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Mr.Ihor KLYMENKO, Minister for Internal Affairs of Ukraine and Mr. Volodymyr DEMCHUK, Acting Head of State Emergency Service of Ukraine expressed their gratitude for Japan's assistance to Ukraine, including the landmine detectors delivered on this visit, and gave an overview of efforts of Ukraine's mine and unexploded ordnance clearance.

    State Ministers Tsuji and Iwata held a talk with Mr. Oleksandr BANKOV, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and held an exchange of views regarding efforts on Russia's aggression against Ukraine and the situation in East Asia. They affirmed to cooperate toward the future reconstruction of Ukraine.
