Mr.TSUJI Kiyoto, State Minister for Foreign Affairs and Mr. NISHIMURA Yasutoshi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, attended the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) Ministerial held online on October 5. The overview of the meeting is as follows:

  1. The IPEF Ministerial was hosted by the Honorable Ambassador Katherine Tai, United States Trade Representative, and attended by representatives from Australia, Brunei, Fiji, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.
  2. In the Ministerial, participants held discussions on the IPEF Pillar I (Trade) and State Minister Tsuji stated that Japan would like to cooperate as much as possible in order to achieve a well-balanced and ambitious outcome while taking into account interests and concerns of each partner.
