On April 5th, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, delivered a video message at The Shinzo Abe Initiative 2nd Conference hosted by the Boston Global Forum, in honor of the late Prime Minister Abe’s legacy.

Noting that we find ourselves at history’s turning point, Minister Hayashi stressed the importance of Japan and the U.S. continuing to fulfill the following roles while addressing the new challenges of our time. First, to maintain and develop an open, rules-based, stable international order, and second, to make ourselves, and our like-minded partners, more resilient. This year, as Japan holds the G7 presidency and the U.S. takes on its role as APEC chair, Minister Hayashi remarked that Japan is especially determined to lead discussions and take action.
