Establishment of the Multi-agency Donor Coordination Platform for Ukraine

On January 26, commencing at 20:00 (JST) for approximately two hours, the first meeting (online format) of representatives of governments and international organizations of the Multi-agency Donor Coordination Platform for Ukraine, which was agreed to be established at the virtual G7 Leaders’Meeting in December last year, was held and the Platform was launched.
In addition to representatives from G7 members, H.E. Mr. Denys SHMYHAL, Prime Minister of Ukraine, H.E.Mr.Serhii MARCHENKO, Minister of Finance of Ukraine, and representatives from international organizations participated in this meeting.
- At the meeting, Assistant Minister Mr. NAKAGOME Masashi, Director General for European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stressed the paramount importance for the international community including the G7 to stay united in supporting Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction, and welcomed the establishment of this Platform. In addition, Mr. OGATA Kentaro, Deputy Vice Minister of Finance for International Affairs of Ministry of Finance, elaborated on the G7 Finance track’s discussion about short-term financial support for Ukraine.
- As the G7 Presidency, Japan will further deepen coordination among G7 and the international community, and continue to contribute for Ukraine's recovery and reconstruction.
