The attending of the Japan-U.S. Security Consultative Committee (SCC)
Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs will visit Washington D.C. , the United States of America to attend the Japan-U.S. Security Consultative Committee (SCC) which to be held on January 12th (local time; 11th). The meeting will be attended by Mr. HAYASHI, and Mr. HAMADA Yasukazu, Minister of Defense, from Japanese side, and Secretary of State, Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin from the U.S. side.
At the SCC, the four ministers will discuss the security challenges facing the two countries based on the strategic documents of the respective countries. They will also discuss future cooperation toward the realization of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific," strengthening of the deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan-U.S. Alliance, and the direction of their security and defense cooperation in the region.
