The 31st Japan-Canada Joint Economic Committee

On December 17, 2021, the 31st meeting of Japan-Canada Joint Economic Committee (JEC) will be held in an online format.

  1. The meeting will be attended by Mr. SUZUKI Hiroshi, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Mr. John Hannaford, Deputy Minister of International Trade, Global Affairs Canada as respective co-chairs with officials of relevant ministries of both countries. In addition, Mr. KAWAMURA Yasuhisa, Ambassador of Japan to Canada and Mr. Ian G. Mckay, Ambassador of Canada to Japan, will also attend the meeting.
  2. The meeting will focus on Japan-Canada cooperation on the current international economic environment including CPTPP and WTO and “Shared Japan-Canada Priorities Contributing to a Free and Open Indo-Pacific” among others.
