Visit to Japan by the Honorable John F. Kerry, United States Special Presidential Envoy for Climate
The Honorable John F. Kerry, United States Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, will visit Japan from Monday, August 30 to Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
- During his stay in Japan, the Special Presidential Envoy is scheduled to have a meeting with Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs.
- It is expected that this visit to Japan by the Special Presidential Envoy will promote Japan-U.S. cooperation on the global issue of climate change.
Special Presidential Envoy Kerry has served as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Secretary of State of the United States (second Obama administration) and was appointed to his current position in January 2021. Since then, he has visited the United Kingdom, France, Germany, China, Russia, India, among other countries.
