Japan-U.S. Foreign Ministers’ Telephone Talk

On August 6, commencing at 9:05 p.m. for 30 minutes, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs, held a Japan-U.S. Foreign Ministers’ telephone talk with the Honorable Antony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America. The overview of the talk is as follows.
The two ministers reconfirmed that Japan and the United States will cooperate to strengthen the Japan-U.S. Alliance and to realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.” They also exchanged their views on regional affairs based on the discussion at the series of ASEAN-related Foreign Ministers’ Meetings.
