Contribution to the secretariat of UNFCCC for promotion of decarbonization technologies

 On 22 March, the Government of Japan has contributed US$909,090 to the secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) for supporting the project on promotion of decarbonization technologies.

  1. This project aims to support developing countries to accelerate the adoption of decarbonization technologies and to promote actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in all regions of the world, through identifying policy options and approaches for decarbonization technologies and promoting information sharing and awareness raising among relevant stakeholders.
  2. This project will contribute to the advancement of the decarbonization technologies of Japanese companies, since this project includes the participation and utilization of their decarbonization technologies.
  3. In cooperation with the secretariat of the UNFCCC, the Government of Japan will make efforts, to realize a decarbonized world that the Paris Agreement aims for.
