1. Japan welcomes the permanent ceasefire agreement, signed at the 5+5 Joint Military Commission in Geneva by the two delegations of the Government of National Accord and the “Libyan National Army” on October 23, 2020.

2. Japan appreciates the recent mediation efforts by the UN and related countries and strongly hopes that, based on the agreement, measures for permanent ceasefire will be taken promptly on the ground and that concrete results will be achieved with the resumption of the UN-facilitated political process.
