LINE Corporation's participation in the Christchurch Call to Action
On September 9, there was an announcement that LINE Corporation decided to join the “Christchurch Call to Action”, which is an initiative to address terrorists and violent extremists content, supported by Japan and led by the New Zealand and French governments. LINE’s participation in the Call is the first case for domestic, moreover, for Asian private companies. Under the Call, participating online service providers are committed to taking specific measures to prevent terrorist-related contents from being uploaded and disseminated within their services. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hopes that the participation of LINE Cooperation will contribute to further acceleration of global efforts to prevent the abuse of the internet.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to effectively tackle the issues of terrorist abuse of the internet by cooperating with relevant entities including domestic ministries and agencies, private companies and governments of other countries.
