Message of condolences following the volcanic eruption on White Island in New Zealand from Foreign Minister MOTEGI Toshimitsu to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters
Following the damages caused by the volcanic eruption on White Island in New Zealand on December 9, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs sent the following messages to Rt Hon Winston Peters, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand.
“Dear Minister Peters,
I am writing to express my deepest sympathies to the Government and the people of New Zealand as I learned of the devastating damages caused by the volcanic eruption on White Island in New Zealand.
Japan stands with New Zealand and its people at this difficult time.
I would like to send my prayers to the victims and sincerely hope for the earliest recovery of the affected people as well as the restoration of the affected areas.
