The 29th Japan-Canada Joint Economic Committee
1. On December 10, 2019, the 29th Japan-Canada Joint Economic Committee will be held in Toronto, Canada.
2. The meeting will be attended by Mr. KANASUGI Kenji, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Mr. John Hannaford, Deputy Minister of International Trade, Global Affairs Canada, as respective Co-Chairs, and officials of relevant ministries of the both countries. In addition, Mr. KAWAMURA Yasuhisa, Ambassador of Japan to Canada and Mr. Ian Burney, Ambassador of Canada to Japan, will also attend the meeting.
3. Following the 28th JEC meeting held in June 2018, the meeting will focus on state of international trade environment and priority areas of cooperation, including energy, infrastructure, science and technology cooperation, tourism and youth exchanges, as well as improving business environment and promoting investment.
