H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, State Councilor and Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, to Visit Japan

  1. H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, State Councilor and Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, will visit Japan from November 22 to 26 to attend the G20 Aichi-Nagoya Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
  2. State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang will attend the G20 Aichi-Nagoya Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and take part in a Japan-China Foreign Ministers’ Meeting with Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, on November 25. On the same day, based on an agreement reached at the Japan-China Summit Meeting on the margins of the G20 Summit in Osaka in June this year, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang is also scheduled to attend the First Japan-China High-Level People-to-People and Cultural Exchange Dialogue, which will be chaired on the Japanese side by Foreign Minister Motegi and on the Chinese side by State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang.

At the Japan-China Summit Meeting held on the margins of the G20 Summit in Osaka in June 2019 between Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, and H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, the two leaders confirmed that the two countries will increase their people-to-people exchanges and shared the view on establishing a high-level dialogue framework for people-to-people and cultural exchanges by the end of the year. The upcoming dialogue will serve as the kickoff meeting, which is scheduled to be chaired by the two Foreign Ministers and attended by relevant parties from both sides, including high-level members.
