Foreign Minister Kono Attends Reception for the OSCE Asian Conference
On September 2, Mr. Taro Kono, Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the reception hosted by Italy for the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) Asian Conference held in Tokyo, and delivered an address on behalf of the Government of Japan. The overview is as follows.
1. At the outset, Minister Kono expressed his gratitude to those involved in the preparations for the OSCE Asian Conference and to Italy for hosting the reception.
2. Minister Kono noted the importance of the OSCE in addressing new challenges facing the digitalized international community, and expressed his expectations for strengthening the relationship between the OSCE and its Asian Partners.
3. The reception was attended by around 100 people participating in the OSCE Asian Conference, including H.E. Dr. Miroslav Lajčák, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic.
