Meeting between Foreign Minister Kono and Ambassador Quartey of the African Union Commission

On October 5, commencing at 3:25 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. Taro Kono, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a meeting with H. E. Amb. Thomas Kwesi Quartey, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), who is visiting Japan for the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) Ministerial Meeting. The overview of the meeting is as follows.
1. At the outset, Minister Kono expressed his gratitude for Ambassador Quartey’s participation in the TICAD Ministerial Meeting as a representative of the AUC, a co-organizer of the TICAD.
2. Following that, Minister Kono and Ambassador Quartey confirmed that they would work closely in the TICAD process.
