ARF Inter-Sessional Meeting on Security of and in the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and 2nd ARF-ISM on ICTs Security
1. On March 28-29, the 2nd ARF-ISM on ICTs Security (ARF Inter-Sessional Meeting on Security of and in the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs)) was held in Singapore. Mr. Yusuke ARAI, Deputy Chief of mission of Japan in Singapore, participated in this meeting and co-chaired with Malaysia and Singapore.
2. At the 2nd ARF-ISM on ICTs Security Meeting, based on the discussion in 3rd Study Group in Singapore in January and the 4th Study Group, the ARF Participants discussed possible Confidence Building Measures (CBMs), and confirmed that those achievements would be reported to the ARF Inter-Sessional Support Group (ISG). The ARF Participants also shared and exchanged views on their regional efforts in cyber security, and for the first time as an effort based on the agreed proposal, each country carried out information sharing on its own policy related to cyber security based on the proposal of Japan.
3. Furthermore, in light of the fact that the United Nations Group of Governmental Experts (GGE), supposed to be established this year, will collaborate with regional framework including ARF to convene a series of consultations in advance of its sessions, the participants exchanged their perspectives on the role of ARF in this regard.

Prior to 2nd ARF-ISM on ICTs Security, 4th Open Ended Study Group (Study Group) on Confidence Building Measures was held in Singapore on March 26, co-chaired by Japan, Malaysia and Singapore.
