The 13th Japan- Iran Human Rights Dialogue

1. The 13th Japan-Iran Human Rights Dialogue was held on January 19 in Tehran.

2. The dialogue was led by Mr. Masato Otaka, Ambassador in charge of UN Affairs, Deputy Assistant Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mrs. Forouzandeh Vadiati, Director General of Human Rights and Woman Affairs Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

3. During the dialogue, both countries explained their respective policies and measures on human rights issues, and exchanged views on matters of interest and concern as well as cooperation in the United Nations.

4. Both sides agreed to hold a next dialogue in Tokyo. At the next dialogue, both countries will continue to discuss and exchange views on human rights developments in each country as well as cooperation in the field of human rights in the international arena.
