MIRAI Program・2018 4th Group (Central Asia and Caucasus)

1. From January 16th to 23rd, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is inviting 40 of legal practitioners (e.g. attorneys, judges, prosecutors) and graduate and undergraduate students who are leading law from Central Asia and Caucasus countries. This invitation project, whose theme is “the rule of law”, is a part of MIRAI Program 2018 promoted by the MOFA of Japan.

2. The fourth group is going to visit and have training at Supreme Court and Tokyo District Court, a private law firm, and the law school of Waseda University during their stay in Japan. The participants will be visiting Hiroshima and Kyoto, where they are going to see the Peace Memorial Park, listen to stories of hibakusha (survivors of the atomic bombing), and experience traditional Japanese culture.

3. It is expected that this program will deepen understanding of the participants about “the rule of law” and encourage them to actively reflect it in their daily practice and disseminate it in their own countries.

4. The .fourth group consists of students from the following 8 countries (alphabetical order);
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan
