The Foreign Affairs, Economic Development, and Finance Ministers
of Maldives to Visit Japan

1. His Excellency Abdulla Shahid, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Republic of Maldives, H.E. Uz. Fayyaz Ismail, Minister of Economic Development, and H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Ameer, Minister of Finance will visit Japan from December 19 to 24, 2018.
2. On this occasion, Mr. Taro Kono, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will hold a meeting with Minister Shahid to exchange views on Japan-Maldives relations and regional issues.
3. Maldives is situated in a strategic point in the Indian Ocean and is an important country for Japan. The Ministers’ visit to Japan is expected to further deepen the friendly relations between Japan and Maldives.
