Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs TSUJI attends
“The International Atomic Energy Agency Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology”



1. On November 28, Mr. Kiyoto TSUJI, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended “The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology” held in Vienna, Austria.
2. Mr. TSUJI co-chaired the Conference and made a statement as the representative of the Government of Japan. He stated nuclear science and technology was utilized in various areas including medical care and hoped this technology would be used further to promote measures to achieve the SDGs. Ministerial Declaration (PDF)
was adopted at the end of the session on November 28.
3. Before the Conference, Mr. TSUJI paid a courtesy call on Mr. Yukiya AMANO, Director General of the IAEA, together with the other co-chair, H.E. Ms. Epsy CAMPBELL Barr, Vice-President and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica, and confirmed the importance of promoting uses of nuclear science and technology.
