Memorial Ceremony of the 10th Anniversary of the Terrorist Attack in Mumbai
1. A Memorial Ceremony which marked the 10th anniversary of the 26 November 2008 terrorist attack in Mumbai City was held on 26 November in Mumbai, India, and Ambassador of Japan to India Kenji Hiramatsu attended.
2. Ambassador Hiramatsu expressed condolences to the victims and their families including a Japanese national during the 2008 Mumbai attack and, condemning terrorism in any form or manifestation, strongly reiterated our stance that there can be no justification whatsoever, for any acts of terrorism. Also, he reaffirmed that the Government of Japan and India would continue efforts and cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
3. Japan expresses its firm stance to cooperate with India in the fight against terrorism, and expects for the earliest revelation of the truth about the 2008 Mumbai attack.

From 26 to 29 November 2008, an indiscriminate attack on civilians was carried out by ten terrorists in Mumbai India, resulting in the deaths of 166 people (including 26 foreign nationals, which included one Japanese national).
