Visit to Japan by Mr. Roberto Azêvedo,
Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO)

1. From November 7 to 8, Mr. Roberto Azevêdo, Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), will make a working visit to Japan.
2. During his stay in Japan, Director-General Azevêdo is scheduled to meet with high-levels of the Government of Japan. He will also exchange views with representatives of relevant organizations.
3. The multilateral trading system centered upon the WTO is the basis of global trade and a pillar of Japanese trade policies. In the exchange of views between high-levels of the Government of Japan and Director-General Azevêdo, the issues such as promoting free trade, maintaining and strengthening the multilateral trading system, and WTO reform will be discussed.
