Summary of the Tenth Round of the Negotiations for Japan-Turkey Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA)
1. The tenth round of the negotiations for Japan-Turkey Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) was held from Monday, June 11 to Wednesday, June 13 in Ankara, Turkey.
2. From the Japanese side, Mr. Katsuhiko Takahashi, Deputy-Director General, Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and representatives from relevant ministries attended this round of meeting. From the Turkish side, Mr. Murat Yapici, Director-General for the EU Affairs (Chief Negotiator) and representatives from relevant ministries participated.
3. At the meeting, discussions were held in areas including trade in goods, trade in services, investment, sanitary and phytosanitary measures (SPS), rules of origin, technical barriers to trade (TBT), intellectual property, e-commerce, government procurement, customs procedures and trade facilitation, among others.
4. The both sides agreed to work on scheduling the dates of the next round of negotiations, through diplomatic channels.
