Japan’s contribution to The Trust Fund for Victims (TFV) of the International Criminal Court (ICC)
1. On December 6 (local time), on the occasion of the 16th session of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC), the Japanese delegation announced that the Government of Japan would contribute approximately 53,000 Euros to the Trust Fund for Victims (TFV) of the ICC.
2. TFV has been implementing support projects for female and child victims in the Republic of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, which have been making steady progress. TFV is also launching a new assistance programme in Côte d'Ivoire in 2018. In addition, the TFV is expected to implement its reparation project in a full-fledged manner for victims of the cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mali respectively, for which the ICC had issued reparation orders.
3. The entire contribution of this time will be earmarked for victims of sexual and gender-based violence.
