Messages of condolence following the wildfires in the northern part of California
Following the wildfires that occurred in the northern part of California, on 16 October, Foreign Minister Taro Kono sent the following messages to the Honorable Rex W. Tillerson, Secretary of State of the United States of America and the Honorable Gerald Brown Jr., Governor of California State.

“I am writing to express my deepest sympathies to the United States Government and citizens as I learned that wildfires have caused devastating damages in the northern part of California.
Japan stands with the U.S. and its people at this difficult time.
I send my prayers to the victims and hope the earliest possible recovery from this disaster.”
